Due to the lack of humidity in the area if the thermostat is lowered below 68 degrees it is possible that it can freeze the unit if it is working too hard. Unfortunately, it will take 24 hours for the unit to defrost before an HVAC specialist can service it. Our evenings are generally cool in the summertime, simply opening the windows will provide extra natural coolness. We requests guests to close the front window shades in the afternoon, as it will help keep the heat out as the front of the house will have direct sun until the sun goes down behind the mountains and to close them at night during winter months to keep the cold out. Please do not open any of the front of the house windows, if you are wanting to cross breeze, please open basement patio door, close screen door and use the whole house fan in the upstairs hall to allow cool air when it is cooler outside, or enjoy the AC. Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely perfect! The home was spotless, cozy, and beautifully furnished, making it the ideal place to relax after exploring Colorado Springs. The location was fantastic—close to incredible attractions like Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, yet in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. The host went above and beyond with their hospitality, providing clear communication and thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. Everything we needed was provided, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable bedding. I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Colorado Springs.
