This classic home is located in historic Monument, Colorado, and offers space, plenty of comfort and armfuls of charm. Beginning outside, there's parking for 4 vehicles in the back and accessed via the alley way beside the home. There's also plenty of it out front too off the street. Enter through the front door with the code provided. You'll walk into a practical mudroom/sunroom area, with access to the rest of the home from here. The main living area is warm and bright—the gas fireplace with original wood mantle and tile work is the room's centerpiece. There's a formal dining space for four, just next to the piano. The kitchen is adjacent to this. Fully outfitted and ready for your culinary creations, it's also right next to an additional formal dining area with seating for 6.
The home's bedrooms are spread about throughout the floorplan, and offer diverse sleeping arrangements. There are 5 bedrooms total, two of which feature king beds, another a double, and two more with a set of twins. Regardless the particular bed, each is comfortable and appointed with quality linens, professionally laundered. The master bedroom does have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a wide opening for easy access. The other bedrooms downstairs features a shared full baths. A also offer spaces and small desks—to work, if you must! The home's upstairs is a loft-style upper level featuring two of the 5 bedrooms and a shared full bathroom with a lot of privacy in this unique space.
Out back there's an inviting brick patio with a gas grill — perfect for a summer's evening under the Colorado sky, perhaps with a craft beer or cocktail brewed up locally at 300 Days of Shine, or Pikes Peak Brewing company. Located approximately 15 minutes north of Colorado Springs, Monument retains its historic, small-town charm and offers incredible access to hiking, trails, lakes, restaurants, cafés, shops, craft distilleries … all within a few minutes away, sometimes by foot. This home is located just a couple of blocks away from the center of town—a charming, historic, welcoming place full of possibilities and opportunities for the short-term visitor of guest. And for those of you looking to see the sites in The Springs, or even in Denver—access is GREAT: 15-20 minutes to COS, 45 minutes to DEN.
Some local dining highlights: La Casa Fiesta, The Bistro on 2nd, and Papa Bear Pizza—all just TWO BLOCKS away.
Some local trails: The Santa Fe trail goes for MILES, and stretches easily into beautiful grounds of the Air Force Academy from here. Sundance Canyon and the Palmer Lake Trailhead—just five minutes from here, an easy (and beautiful hike) up to some mountain reservoirs. Mount Herman Road—just outside of town this road is a gateway into some bigger, better mountain goodness and is a local favorite, with many trails branching off from this forest-service maintained dirt road. Red Rocks Road Trailhead—the town of Monument gets its name from these spectacular rock formations. Just outside of town, the hike is easy and family friendly.
Although there are exceptional entertainment, dining and recreational opportunities within walking distance to this vacation rental, we still recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in the Pikes Peak Region. We're happy to provide bus schedules and maps too if you'd like to use public transportation.
